Array As most Christians know, your faith is not tested when life is a breeze, but through adversity. I have learned that God is in control of my life, and I have to fully trust that he knows what is in store for me. When he told me, I knew that nine months later we would welcome a baby into our family. God has truely brought me to the point where I know adoption is His plan. After looking at a website called www.precious.org and seeing countless children that need homes, I knew this was God’s plan for me. God has truely brought me to the point of complete dependency on him, knowing that his plan is perfect. I don’t know what the future holds exactly, but I know that God has a beautiful child already picked out for me. He knows his/her name, and He knows that our lives will be complete when that child boards the plane with us.

-ne 刊於明報 新界專線 [2007-04-07] 每逢春秋二祭，前往將軍澳墳場掃墓的市民平均有三十萬人，原來由油塘通往墳場的車路，也在清明正日禁止車輛行駛。為紓緩掃墓人潮，華永會早前提出興建多一條行人徑，連接墳場至調景嶺地鐵站，有關工程並於三月中旬正式刊憲。不過，有團體認為，行人徑未能解決掃墓人士行路上山之苦，故在清明節正日進行爭取行動，要求政府興建新行車路。將軍澳墳場監察組多名成員在清明節當日，在油塘地鐵站口進行祭品重量調查，調查共訪問107 人，祭品平均重量達20 磅，四成受訪掃墓市民的祭品重量為15 磅以下，接近兩成祭品重量達30 磅。另有67％受訪者認為步行上山掃墓辛苦。監察組主席彭淑儀表示，不少掃墓人士帶同燒肉、生果、鮮花等祭品，再由油塘地鐵站徒步近一小時才到墳場，到達目的地時，往往筋疲力盡，情確是苦不堪言。她續稱，雖然華永會提出興建新行人路接駁至調景嶺，但有關行人路的路程仍長達半小時，還要行上很陡斜的梯級，根本未能解決上山之苦問題。該監察組強烈要求華永會改善墳場的交通配套及長遠而言興建新的行車路。新行人徑被指不可取另外，西貢區議員何民傑日前亦聯同調景嶺區屋苑居民到將軍澳墳場入口處請願及派發傳單，要求政府興建行車路或自動扶手電梯連接將軍澳華人永遠墳場。對於華永會提出興建新行人路連接調景嶺，何民傑認為，華永會新方案依然需要老弱婦孺等掃墓人士高峰期步行往返將軍澳墳場，並不可取。有參與派傳單行動的調景嶺維景灣畔業委會主席陳繼偉表示，該業委員現正向屋苑住戶進行問卷調查，以了解業戶是否支持花鉅資（估計約400 萬律師費），提出司法覆核，反對華永會興建連接調景嶺至將軍澳墳場的行人路。掃墓人士意見：1）彭先生（å·¦）：「通往墳場的斜路很長很斜，我六十多歲，身體唔好，每次行都要休息三次，差不多一小時才去到墳場。我都想平日來，可惜家人就不到時間。政府若能興建多條車路，我就不用這麼辛苦。」2）劉先生（藍衣者）：「我通常用半小時便可去到墳場。一年一次，

I have been an Adnan Sami fan, ever since I heard his voice along with Asha Bhosle in ‘kabhi to nazar milao’. The same album contained his ‘Lift Karade’ which I totally loved. Here was this round, fat guy, who was having fun, could sing well, and laugh at himself. Why He even made fun of himself in the remix of that song. Soon songs came and songs went. Every bollywood heroine, wanted to feature in his songs, and I really didn’t mind. His songs were as beautiful as ever. In the Middle of 2006, he went into hiding. Maybe a month back, we heard that he was exercising and losing some weight. We said, ‘good for him’. A week back I heard he was back. Back with a new song, as well as a new waist line; look at him at the Miss India contest:Apparently the man now weighs 97 kilos and looks pretty happy with this achievement. Not only was he looking slimmer and trimmer last night but also appeared to be in a peppy, naughty mood while interacting with the contestants. When I saw his new song, I was floored. Not only is it a beautiful song, but it struck a chord.Have you guessed why it touched a chord? Well coz it features SXC. He reminisces about a woman whom he loved and grief over losing her just after professing his love for her, But for me it’s something totally different. I left Xavier’s just when I was having the most fun. It’s like just when I was having the most fun, I had to stop. So the Teri Yaad aati hai is for college, and the fun we had there. On a related note, you will see that they have made the first quadrangle, look like some European cafe or something. Actually the first Quad has always reminded me of Venice’s Piazza San Marco Why? I first got this image when I saw the first Quad flooded in 2003, when I had come on a rainy day. From Wikipedia: The Piazza San Marco is the lowest point in Venice, and as a result during the Acqua Alta the high water from storm surges from the Adriatic, or even heavy rain, it is the first to flood. Water pouring into the drains in the Piazza runs directly into the Grand Canal. This is ideal during heavy rain, but during the acqua alta it has the reverse effect, with water from the canal surging up into the Square.link

Array-ne It’s the week of the U.S. Open, and once again, the USGA has taken a course and done things to it to make it a very tough test of golf. While the final score at some U.S. Open sites will be at or near par, the USGA does not try to formulate a course set up that will only produce a winning score of at or near even par. How else can you explain that they take the shortest 2 par 5 holes on the course each year and waive their magic USGA wand and presto, the holes are now Par 4s? The course, for 51 weeks of the year, is a Par 72 course. The course, for that one week, is a Par 70 course, which means if you shoot 71 any other week of the year, you were 1 under par and kicking righteous butt.

I decided I would reach more people here than I would if I picked 4 people to send it to. An old lady named Granny owned the place and she peeked out of the window from time to time at all those kids. She paid 0.65 cents an hour and I could start that night.I raced home and called the teenager down the street that baby-sat for people. When I got home in the mornings I woke the baby-sitter up and sent her home with one dollar of my tip money–fully half of what I averaged every night.As the weeks went by, heating bills added a strain to my meager wage. I had to fill them with air on the way to work and again every morning before I could go home. One bleak fall morning, I dragged myself to the car to go home and found four tires in the back seat. The regulars all just sat around and talked through the wee hours of the morning and then left toget home before the sun came up. When it was time for me to go home at seven o’clock on Christmas morning I hurried to the car. Is it Fran’s fault?  After all he only recruited 1 Offensive lineman in his 2 years here and took him (Grant Dickey) with him to Texas A and M.As far as it goes I don’t know and I don’t care.You will have to excuse me for being excited in the direction we are headed.  We have a great young enthusiastic coach who is willing give the credit to others and take the blame himself.  A coach that never makes excuses, and has a true love for the University of Alabama.  Oh and in case any one needs to be reminded even with all of that said we are the #3 team in the SEC – and with all of the crap we have been through – that ain’t to bad in my book.  Big deal this year LSU and Auburn had better teams than us.  But Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Kentucky, Georgia and Tennessee didn’t.Now lets go win a bowl game and close up this great recruiting class.Stop your bitching and get behind the Tide.Clay

That was actually pretty appalling.Perhaps the cutest thing that happened was watching two girls in their late teens titter their way to the front of the line to eventually present Kevin with a CD of Footloose for him to autograph. It’s amazing sometimes what people consider as acceptable behavior.Anyway, Kevin used our silver Sharpie to sign things with, and after the show we helped him around backstage and stopped him from making a big mistake as he headed for the stage door to go outside and make a phone call - where he would have no doubt been swarmed.

He’s got great lugs and I use them as often as possible, his original design is what I used as the base to carve my nature lover lugs from (I’ve been shocked at how many folks didn’t realize that I have to carve all that stuff out by hand, lugs don’t’ come cast in the shaped I used for the nature-lovers!). By the way, response to those lugs has been tremendous, it looks like I’ll be carving up more similar ones this year for other projects so keep your eyes out for more examples.Kirk’s slant six project is a really cool one, especially for me since I build lugged Mountain bikes. Last night, the Topper phalanx poked holes in Towson to the tune of 95-72. The Tops had ten players play double-digit minutes and two others logged eight minutes. The Tops ran fresh bodies at Neal all night and kept him on the run throughout the entire game.As good as the Toppers were, the weakness of their phalanx was exploited. Granted, the game was never in doubt after the Toppers used a 13-2 run to go up 22-10 with under 11 mins to in the first half, but Towson shot 16-22 from the field in the second half and most of those buckets came by getting into the halfcourt and tossing the ball over the Topper defenders. Much like the Greeks’ phalanx, the weakness of the Topper army is its backside. This will be a great opportunity and important experience for WKU.Let’s hope the Topper phalanx is not countered by a Gator atomic bomb. The Trojans need this roadie to help heal the nationally televised whipping they took at Texas Tech and the subsequent loss at Tulsa.–New Orleans at Lamar.

IT is expected that a decision by Sligo County Council to grant planning permission for a controversial development in Enniscrone will be appealed to An Bord Pleanala. The County Council last week granted approval for a scheme of 207 houses and apartments, three retail units and a creche in the resort, despite a large number of objections to the plan. The planning application by the Hannon family, Scuramore, for the major development at Carrowhubbock South, drew a lot of opposition, with over 30 submissions to the Council objecting to and expressing concern about the development. These included one on behalf of 213 residents and householders of Enniscrone, as well as a large number of individual objections. And in an unusual move, the country’s tourism authority, Failte Ireland, submitted a report, which it commissioned from leading consulting firm Brady Shipman Martin, on the development situation in the resort. The report set out that it is an assessment of the potential tourism and environmental implications of the proposed development and offers guidance so as to ensure Enniscrone developes sustainably and that new residential development does not negatively impact on the townâlink
